The Nurse Educator — Perioperative Services role is onsite in Washington, DC. Compensation is $46.28–$71.10 per hour. The educator supports nursing staff across the Operating Room, PACU, Pre-Admit, Endoscopy, and Central Sterile Processing units at Howard University Hospital, a teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center.

What you'll do

• Develop and evaluate education programs and the perioperative nursing program for new and transferring staff
• coordinate unit orientations and support preceptors
• observe nursing practice in operating rooms to identify learning needs
• educate staff on protocols, in-services, and electronic medical record systems
• ensure education aligns with professional and regulatory standards
• and serve as a clinical expert in perioperative patient care.

Why this role

Requires a BSN and master’s degree, five years of perioperative nursing experience including two years as a clinical educator or instructor, an unrestricted DC RN license, and current BLS certification. CNOR and ACLS are preferred. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with no weekend or holiday requirement.
