Precision Roller Grinding Technician

The Precision Roller Grinding Technician role is onsite in Petersburg, VA, on the night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Pay is $20–$24 per hour, plus a $1.00 night differential; annual bonus eligibility is possible. The role supports Amsted Rail’s Brenco Bearing and Amsted Seals divisions, which produce tapered roller bearings and precision sealing solutions for freight rail. The technician operates and monitors a precision grinding line, checks parts against specifications, and performs routine equipment care. The work contributes to producing conforming components that support freight rail operations.

What you'll do

• Load programs and verify machine sequences
• measure in-process parts and document production
• monitor equipment and adjust parameters
• inspect for defects
• change tooling with setup personnel
• use hand and power tools
• handle components with hoists or cranes
• replace grinding wheels
• perform preventive maintenance
• operate a forklift and monitor automated equipment.
