Job overview

The K–8 Reading and Math Tutor role is onsite in Topsham, ME, and pays $16–$18 per hour. Sylvan Learning of Topsham provides instruction using Sylvan program materials. The tutor prepares and delivers individualized instructional sessions, tracks student progress, and communicates student needs to center staff to support students’ learning and engagement.

What you'll do

• Prepare instructional materials
• greet and engage students
• teach according to Sylvan program design
• manage instructional sessions
• evaluate and record student progress
• use encouragement and tokens to support engagement
• complete learning logs and transition activities
• communicate student needs to center staff
• attend periodic staff meetings and training
• complete program certification training.
