Qualified Medication Aide (QMA)

The Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) role is onsite in Evansville, IN, with pay of $20–$24 per hour based on experience. Riverwalk Communities provides long-term care, and the posting describes a nursing-floor role supporting residents. The QMA administers medications and monitors residents’ health while assisting with personal care and maintaining accurate records. The work supports medication safety and residents’ day-to-day care; day shifts run 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and night shifts run 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

What you'll do

• Administer oral, topical, ophthalmic, nasal, and transdermal medications according to physician orders and the Six Rights of Medication Administration
• document in the MAR
• report side effects or changes in condition to the supervising nurse
• assist with blood glucose checks and narcotic counts
• take vital signs, weights, and intake/output
• help residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal care
• follow infection-control and safety standards.

Why this role

Requires active Indiana QMA certification and listing on the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry, current CNA certification, and current BLS/CPR; new QMAs are welcome, and six months of CNA experience is preferred.
