The Veterinary Technician, Emergency & Critical Care, Mid-Shift role is an onsite position in Portland, ME, with a stated pay range of $25–$38 per hour based on experience and licensure. The current opening is Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday from 1:30 PM to 2:00 AM, subject to change based on hiring needs; some holidays are required. Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care is a growing multispecialty and emergency practice. The technician works alongside emergency doctors and the nursing team to triage and stabilize emergency patients, support diagnostics and procedures, and maintain treatment records. The role contributes to patient care in a high-acuity emergency and critical-care setting.

What you'll do

  • Triage and stabilize emergency patients
  • administer medications and manage fluid therapy
  • perform and assist with radiographs, bloodwork, and ECGs
  • monitor anesthesia and support emergency procedures
  • maintain medical records and treatment plans
  • and communicate with clients, doctors, and teammates.
