Lead Financial Counselor — Patient Financial Services

It helps patients navigate coverage and assistance options while supporting the department’s patient-access and revenue goals.

What you'll do

• Guide daily operations of the Enrollment/Financial Counseling team
• assign tasks, monitor productivity, conduct quality reviews, and escalate complex cases
• lead meetings and report performance metrics
• coach staff and coordinate onboarding and training
• provide direct financial counseling and enrollment assistance
• assess eligibility for MassHealth, Health Connector plans, Medicare, and other public benefits
• explain coverage, financial responsibility, assistance, and payment options
• review sliding-fee and self-pay queues
• document information in the electronic medical record
• collaborate with revenue cycle, billing, registration, and community partners
• support outreach and enrollment events.
