Job overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer role is onsite in Louisville, KY, with domestic travel that may reach 25%. Pay is $125,000–$155,000 annually, and the position is eligible for an annual bonus. KFI Engineers’ Utilities & Central Energy group designs central energy plants and distribution systems for cities, universities, hospitals, and manufacturing campuses. The engineer leads technical delivery of electrical engineering work, including power distribution and generation systems, studies, specifications, and construction support. The role coordinates with project teams and clients to deliver projects within scope and budget and may serve as project manager when assigned.

What you'll do

  • Design power distribution, medium-voltage, 480-volt, building power, and lighting systems
  • perform power system studies
  • prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications
  • review contractor and vendor submittals
  • develop project plans, schedules, labor and cost estimates
  • coordinate with project teams and contractors
  • provide construction observation, field support, startup, and commissioning assistance
  • support proposals and customer meetings.
