The Medical Assistant role is in person in Silver Spring, MD, and pays $21–$25 per hour. The position supports clinicians and daily operations at CloseKnit, a patient-centered primary and immediate care organization. The role combines clinical and administrative support to help providers deliver timely, accurate patient care and maintain efficient clinic operations. It supports patient intake, testing, procedures, records, scheduling, and coordination while contributing to a patient-centered experience.

What you'll do

• Assist providers with exams, diagnostic testing, and in-office procedures
• collect patient histories and vital signs
• administer injections and medications as directed by licensed providers
• perform venipuncture and collect specimens
• operate EKG and diagnostic equipment
• prepare specimens and perform basic lab procedures
• educate patients on care plans
• maintain exam rooms
• register patients, verify insurance, and update EHR records
• schedule appointments
• process authorizations, referrals, and callbacks
• manage supplies and opening and closing procedures
• follow HIPAA and OSHA requirements.

Why this role

Requires high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited medical assistant program, current CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification, current BLS or CPR certification, two or more years of medical assistant experience, and EMR experience. Some weekend shifts, evenings, holidays, and work at multiple clinical locations may be required.
