The Principal Electrical Power Batteries & Controls Engineer role is onsite in Houston, TX. Compensation is not specified. The position owns the energy-storage segment of Axiom Station’s electrical power system, supporting Axiom Space’s commercial space station program. The engineer defines and verifies the station’s high-voltage lithium-ion energy-storage system, connecting requirements, analysis, interfaces, suppliers, safety, and testing. This work helps ensure the storage segment can support the regulated station bus and integrate with vehicle systems through flight readiness.

What you'll do

• Own energy-storage requirements for cells, modules, vaults, management, protection, regulation, telemetry, and commanding
• model energy balance, eclipse budgets, degradation, and failure availability
• define battery interfaces and power-quality limits
• develop verification strategy and test criteria
• support high-voltage battery safety analysis
• lead supplier technical engagement
• integrate with thermal, structures, avionics, operations, and logistics
• present readiness reviews.
