What you'll do

• Verify that cited cases, statutes, and regulations remain good law
• identify negative Shepard’s treatment and nonexistent or misdescribed cases
• check quotations, holdings, and pin cites
• assess whether controlling and on-point authority is included
• maintain jurisdictional distinctions
• verify the law in force on the operative date
• and distinguish binding from persuasive authority.
