The Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor II/III, High Desert State Prison role is onsite in Susanville, CA, inside a state prison. Compensation is $32 per hour. Amity Foundation supports prison and re-entry programs and community-based rehabilitation. The counselor delivers face-to-face rehabilitative programming through the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. By facilitating classes, individual sessions, and progress documentation, the role supports participants’ treatment and program goals.

What you'll do

• Facilitate cognitive behavioral intervention classes using standardized, evidence-based curriculum
• conduct classes and individual sessions to develop release prevention or action plans and provide make-up work
• evaluate and document participant progress
• record services in ARMS
• reinforce group norms
• collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, the institution, and contracted staff.
