Senior Network Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Network Engineer role is hybrid, with the employee required to be within commuting distance of Martinsburg, WV; compensation is $130,000–$140,000 per year. This position supports the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Network Design, Implementation, and Infrastructure program. The engineer designs, deploys, and supports enterprise network and security solutions for a globally distributed federal network. The work improves architecture and supports performance, resilience, and security across routing, switching, network security, and cloud connectivity.

What you'll do

• Design, deploy, and operate enterprise network and network security solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and analyze packet captures.
• Implement and manage multi-vendor solutions including Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, and F5.
• Support firewalls, IPS, secure remote access, SD-WAN, and hybrid connectivity.
• Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.
• Support AWS and Azure connectivity, scripting and automation, monitoring and logging, network testing, diagrams, and documentation.
