Job overview
The Clinical Counselor role is onsite at a residential youth services organization in the Texas Panhandle, approximately 45 minutes from Amarillo, TX. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no evenings or weekends required. Compensation is $47,500–$55,000 per year based on licensure level, with optional free on-campus housing. The counselor joins a clinical team serving children and teens ages 5–18. The counselor provides therapy, assessments, crisis intervention, and treatment recommendations for youth in residential care. The role also coordinates with campus staff, supports therapeutic programming, and contributes to a safe, structured environment through documentation and clinical collaboration.
What you'll do
- Conduct individual therapy, mental health, suicide, and risk assessments
- make clinical diagnoses and treatment recommendations
- design and evaluate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups
- provide clinical support for adventure programs and equine-assisted psychotherapy
- collaborate with campus staff and participate in team meetings
- provide staff training
- deliver crisis intervention
- document services and participate in continuous quality improvement.

Why this role
Master’s degree required; must hold or obtain an eligible license within six months; supervised hours and on-site supervisory support are available for clinicians working toward full licensure. Occasional travel may be needed.
