The Mechatronics Maintenance Apprentice — Automotive Manufacturing role is onsite in Holland, MI. Compensation is $21–$24 per hour. The apprenticeship combines one day per week of classroom instruction with supervised, cross-disciplinary training to build skills toward journeyman certification. Working under direct supervision and alongside experienced technicians, the apprentice supports maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment to help minimize downtime and keep manufacturing lines operating. The role develops mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills while following safety procedures and documenting work in the CMMS.

What you'll do

• Support preventive maintenance on CNC machines, robotic welding cells, conveyors, stamping presses, and assembly equipment
• diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues under direct supervision
• assist with electrical systems, VFDs, control panels, and PLC fault identification and minor program tweaks
• read schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams
• align, install, and remove components
• assist with hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and rigging tasks
• document work orders and logs in the CMMS
• follow LOTO, confined-space, hot-work, and PPE procedures
• participate in safety inspections, toolbox talks, and training.
