Survey CAD Technician

Job overview

The Survey CAD Technician role is primarily in-office in Round Rock, TX, with local travel to project sites and occasional overnight travel potentially required. Compensation is not specified. Baird, Hampton & Brown provides engineering solutions and land-surveying services for client projects. The technician prepares and checks survey drawings and deliverables, processes field data, and supports boundary analysis and survey calculations under an RPLS. The work equips survey crews and project teams with accurate information for property transfer, planning, development, and civil engineering design.

What you'll do

• Prepare boundary, topographic, tree, construction, easement, and ALTA/NSPS survey drawings using Civil 3D
• draft plats, exhibits, and legal descriptions under RPLS supervision
• process and review field data
• research deeds, plats, easements, rights-of-way, and public records
• compile information for boundary analysis
• calculate survey points and construction staking information
• prepare field files and stakeout data
• perform routine QA/QC
• coordinate with project managers, field crews, and engineers
• assist with field survey work as needed.
