The Medical Coder role is onsite in Tacoma, WA, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation is $27.45–$31.57 per hour. The role supports the Patient Accounts team at Puyallup Tribal Health Authority, a patient-first health and wellness center serving the Indigenous community. The coder reviews records and applies appropriate coding to support compliant billing and timely claims. By resolving documentation and coding issues with providers and internal teams, the role helps strengthen the revenue cycle and support patient care operations.

What you'll do

• Review electronic medical records for supported E/M, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• verify medical necessity, modifiers, and payer information
• communicate documentation deficiencies and educate providers
• collaborate with physicians, Patient Accounts, and IT
• process worklists and reconcile unbilled encounters
• maintain coding knowledge and support training.
