Field Service Technician I

The Field Service Technician I role is onsite in Middle River, MD, with 50% overnight travel. Compensation is $27.01–$44.56 per hour. The technician works in Qualus's Field Services department, supporting power infrastructure clients. The technician tests, maintains, and repairs electrical apparatus in the shop and field. This work helps ensure circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment operate reliably and meet applicable specifications.

What you'll do

• Test low- and medium-voltage breakers using Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and timing tests
• perform mechanical repairs and refurbishment of breakers and switches
• wire circuit breakers
• use and read test equipment
• read schematics and wiring drawings
• troubleshoot breaker controls
• read and plot time-current curves
• test transformers using Power Factor and TTR
• document work using Power DB.
