The Field Service and Repair Mechanic — Pump Equipment role is onsite in Fairfield, NJ, with work in the repair shop and at customer sites. Compensation is $30–$45 per hour. Hayes Pump provides pump equipment repair, maintenance, and field service to keep critical systems operating safely and efficiently. This technician diagnoses, repairs, rebuilds, and maintains commercial, industrial, and municipal pumping equipment. The role supports reliable customer operations through equipment testing, clear repair recommendations, service documentation, and safe work practices.

What you'll do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, rebuild, disassemble, and reassemble pumps and related equipment
• perform start-ups, operational testing, and equipment setup
• evaluate equipment and document condition and repair scope
• communicate findings to customers and internal teams
• complete service reports in the CRM
• maintain company equipment, tools, and service vehicle
• follow safety policies and OSHA requirements
• participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule
• travel throughout the assigned service territory, including occasional overnight travel.
