Job overview
The Chief Operating Officer role is onsite at Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic’s home office in Lancaster, PA. Pay is $180,000–$200,000 per year. HDC MidAtlantic works to create safe, welcoming, and affordable housing and supports housing stability and stronger communities. Reporting to the President and CEO, the COO translates the organization’s mission and strategic vision into operational execution. The role aligns departments, strengthens systems and leadership, and oversees organizational performance to support resident-centered services and sustainable growth.
What you'll do
- Partner with the CEO on enterprise decisions and represent the CEO when needed
- direct annual work planning and translate strategic priorities into measurable goals
- maintain performance dashboards and report progress to the CEO and board
- oversee operational leadership meetings and coach department heads
- lead cross-departmental initiatives
- improve workflows, service delivery, and operational standards
- manage operational risks
- advance technology and data use
- guide change management and scalable procedures
- partner with Human Resources on talent, engagement, and leadership development.
