Crisis Phone Representative (Remote)

The Crisis Phone Representative (Remote) role is remote for candidates who live within 50 miles of Clearwater, FL, with mandatory onsite training approximately twice yearly and an initial onsite reporting day in Clearwater. Compensation is $25 per hour for listed day/evening schedules and $27.50 per hour for the listed overnight schedule. The role supports callers contacting the Crisis Lifeline for emotional support. The representative responds to crisis calls, assesses imminent risk, and uses de-escalation and safety planning to help reduce risk. The role also connects callers with referrals or emergency resources when needed and works toward Crisis and Suicide Lifeline performance metrics.

What you'll do

• Answer incoming Crisis Lifeline calls from clients seeking emotional support
• meet Crisis and Suicide Lifeline performance metrics
• speak with imminent-risk clients and de-escalate, screen, safety plan, and reduce lethal means during conversations
• use the least invasive service approach
• provide referrals, deploy mobile crisis units, or engage law enforcement in active rescue as needed
• remain available for emergency response and storm support. Training is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. for 3–4 weeks.
