CNC Oxy-Fuel & Plasma Machine Operator

Job overview

The CNC Oxy-Fuel & Plasma Machine Operator works onsite in Toledo, OH. Compensation is a starting rate of $20.00 per hour, with additional premiums of $0.50 per hour for second shift and $1.00 per hour for third shift; overtime is available. The role supports the production team at Precision Steel Services, which has supplied steel across the Midwest since 1974. The operator turns raw steel plate into accurate finished parts, helping maintain quality and keep downstream production moving. The work includes machine setup and adjustment, material and job verification, inspection, production recording, material handling, and basic equipment upkeep.

What you'll do

• Operate CNC oxy-fuel and plasma cutting machines
• set and adjust gas pressure, consumables, torch settings, and cutting speed
• verify material grade, thickness, and job requirements
• follow work orders, prints, and job travelers
• plan cuts to reduce scrap
• monitor machine performance and respond to problems
• inspect finished parts
• verify dimensions using tape measures and basic shop math
• record production information
• use overhead cranes or forklifts to handle material
• perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning
• and maintain a safe work area and follow PPE requirements.
