Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer role is onsite in Lewis Center, OH, with compensation of $50–$70 per hour. Sterling Engineering is recruiting for work supporting complex engineered systems for specialized industrial applications, including nuclear energy projects. The engineer supports the full systems lifecycle, from requirements and design through integration, testing, validation, and commissioning. The role works across engineering and project teams to ensure systems meet project requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain system requirements, technical specifications, and engineering documentation
• support calculations, analysis, design reviews, and risk assessments
• participate in testing, prototyping, verification, and validation, including FAT and SAT
• review drawings, specifications, and test results
• collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and project management teams
• support integration, troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and customer acceptance.
