Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Job overview

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) role is onsite in Newport, NC, with pay of $10–$16 per hour. Carteret House supports seniors through safe, comfortable communities and personalized resident care. The PCA assists residents with daily living activities and health-related routines, while promoting dignity, independence, engagement, and a safe living environment in coordination with the nursing team.

What you'll do

• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, meals, feeding, hydration, and personal hygiene
• observe and report changes in health, behavior, or physical condition
• provide medication reminders and monitor for adverse reactions
• encourage companionship and participation in community activities
• maintain clean and safe living areas
• follow infection-control and safety protocols and respond to emergencies.
