The Medication Specialist role is onsite in Springfield, MA, with pay of $19–$21 per hour and a Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule. The position supports the GRIT co-occurring enhanced residential programs at Mental Health Association of Western Massachusetts, which provide residential rehabilitation for people with substance use challenges and co-occurring mental health conditions. The specialist provides medication-practice oversight and support to promote safe, effective medication processes and recovery-oriented care. The role coordinates with nurses, prescribers, program staff, and residents, while maintaining medication records and supplies, auditing medication practices, and training staff and residents on relevant procedures.
What you'll do
- Complete and document weekly medication audits
- identify and communicate medication-room errors for follow-up
- maintain medication tracking records and related paperwork
- monitor appointment paperwork, refill needs, pickups, and new orders
- support and train staff on medication-related tasks
- maintain medication-room cleanliness and supplies
- prepare information for prescriber appointments and complete medication forms
- maintain Naloxone supply and tracking and provide quarterly overdose and Naloxone administration training
- conduct medication disposals according to the Nurse Manager’s timeline.
