What you'll do

• Interview patients
• measure and record vital signs in the electronic medical record
• prepare examination rooms and position instruments
• assist providers during examinations
• operate EKG and other diagnostic equipment or arrange tests
• perform venipunctures, routine lab tests, injections, and ear lavage
• use judgment in responding to patient questions and complaints
• understand referrals and pre-authorizations. Depending on site placement, may schedule appointments, maintain records, perform secretarial tasks, complete insurance forms, or conduct tele-triage. Attend staff and team meetings.
