Estimator — Maritime Ship Repair and Industrial Repair

The Estimator role is onsite in Norfolk, VA, and pays $32–$40 per hour. The position prepares estimates and competitive quotations for maritime ship repair/refit and industrial repair/refit work at Walashek. The estimator scopes work, determines labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs, and develops bids and quotes using company policies. The role coordinates with internal staff and trades, suppliers, vendors, and clients to support accurate pricing and maintain the contract pipeline.

What you'll do

• Prepare cost estimates and competitive fixed-price quotations for maritime ship repair/refit and industrial repair/refit
• determine work procedures, crew size, tools, subcontractors, and materials
• coordinate with staff and trades
• conduct ship or site checks as needed
• obtain bill-of-material quotations
• maintain supplier, vendor, and client relationships
• update the contract pipeline with management
• build estimates and quotes under corporate policies
• interpret blueprints and technical documents.
