The Animal Services Assistant role is onsite in Nacogdoches, TX, with pay of $13.87 per hour. The position supports the City of Nacogdoches Community Services team and its animal shelter services. The role combines public-facing service and administrative work with hands-on animal care. It exists to support shelter operations, animal intake and adoption processes, and care that helps give pets a second chance.

What you'll do

• Provide customer service to patrons and visitors
• answer calls, manage records, process check-ins and checkouts, and collect fees
• assist with animal intakes and handle dogs, cats, rodents, birds, and reptiles
• coordinate adoption applications and animal transfers to rescue organizations
• assist Animal Control Officers and staff with shelter cleaning, animal care, vaccinations, and microchipping. Requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid Texas driver’s license
• prior animal services experience is preferred but not required.
