Human Resources Manager/Director

The Human Resources Manager/Director role is primarily onsite at the corporate office in Abingdon, MD, with travel to the Essex location and other assigned program or community locations as required. Compensation is $80,000–$110,000 per year. The position supports the Administration / People and Culture department at Brighter, Stronger Foundation. The role provides responsive HR support across the employee lifecycle, helping assigned departments and programs with recruitment, onboarding, benefits and leave administration, employee relations, performance management, records, and compliance. It contributes to consistent policy application and personnel practices that support the organization’s program and accreditation requirements.

What you'll do

• Provide day-to-day People and Culture support
• support full-cycle recruitment, screening, offers, and onboarding
• coordinate benefits enrollment and employee inquiries
• assist with performance reviews, coaching, corrective action, and employee development
• document and escalate employee concerns and support investigations
• maintain confidential HR records and prepare reports
• support CARF accreditation and COMAR readiness
• use HRIS, LMS, payroll/timekeeping, and benefits systems.

Why this role

Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant HR experience may be considered. Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or another regulated environment is preferred.
