The Cook Lead role is onsite at Highview in the Woodlands in Rockton, IL, with pay of $23–$25 per hour. The schedule is full-time days, 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation and flexibility to cover afternoon shifts. The role supports dining for residents and guests in a Wesley Willows community. The Cook Lead prepares meals tailored to residents’ preferences and dietary needs while guiding culinary staff and assisting with kitchen operations. The role helps maintain safe, organized service and a positive dining experience for residents.

What you'll do

• Prepare, cook, and present meals according to menus, recipes, portions, and quality standards
• accommodate resident preferences, allergies, sensitivities, and prescribed dietary modifications
• coordinate with dining leadership, nursing, and the registered dietitian
• guide and train culinary staff
• assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, and receiving
• maintain food safety and sanitation records
• support inspection readiness.

Why this role

Requires prior shift guidance or kitchen operations experience, 1–2 years of professional cooking experience in an elevated or fine-dining setting, and active ServeSafe/Food Safety Managers Certification or ability to obtain it within 45 days. Weekend and holiday rotation required; may cover afternoon shifts.
