The position supports a leading Triad commercial general contractor’s preconstruction work on commercial and institutional projects. The estimator develops accurate, competitive project estimates by reviewing plans and specifications, completing quantity takeoffs, obtaining subcontractor pricing, and preparing bids and proposals. The work supports timely bid submissions and project handoffs while identifying value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities.

What you'll do

• Prepare detailed commercial construction cost estimates
• bid multiple projects weekly and meet deadlines
• perform digital quantity takeoffs
• review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for scope completeness
• solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• develop estimates and bid proposals
• coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and owners during preconstruction
• identify value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities
• maintain estimating files and historical cost data
• participate in post-bid reviews and project handoffs.
