The Special Education Teacher (K-12) is an onsite role based in Tacoma, WA, offering a salary range of $65,000 - $95,000 per year plus a $2,500 sign-on bonus. This position supports the ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education team in their mission to provide alternative and special education programs for children and young adults. The role exists to lead the instructional process for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) by designing personalized learning experiences. The teacher contributes to the organization's goals by delivering targeted instruction, managing student caseloads, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth and academic success.

• Create an inclusive, collaborative environment
• establish a classroom climate based on mutual respect and PBIS strategies
• track and document student progress
• deliver differentiated instruction
• manage student caseloads including IEP development
• prepare detailed lesson plans
• maintain a safe and organized classroom
• stay informed on current research-based instructional practices.
