The Industrial Automation Reliability Technician (PLC/HMI) role is onsite in Reno, NV; pay is $34.20 per hour, with a stated $0.50-per-hour shift differential. The role supports Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division and its manufacturing equipment and facility systems. The technician helps maintain equipment uptime, safety, and performance by diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, completing preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement. The work spans automated lines, plant machinery, and facility systems, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, and control panels.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical issues on plant machines and facility systems
• service presses, power transmission devices, conveyors, and un-coilers
• install, commission, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, vision systems, MCCs, PDCs, and motors
• build or modify control panels
• perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• inspect electrical systems for NEC compliance
• interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints
• install manufacturing equipment and perform supporting fabrication or machining
• operate lifts to access elevated work areas
• perform related fabrication, welding, plumbing, painting, masonry, piping, and carpentry as needed
• support continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.
