What you'll do

• Document account updates in billing software
• provide management feedback on problems and improvements
• answer patient and clinic calls
• review accounts and mail statements and past-due letters
• submit accounts to collection agencies
• prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper claims
• follow up on unpaid claims
• check insurance payments for accuracy and contract compliance
• contact insurers about discrepancies
• identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurance
• research and appeal denied claims
• respond to patient and insurance inquiries about assigned accounts.
