Gas Locate Technician

Job overview

The Gas Locate Technician role is onsite in Deerfield, IL, and pays $22.00 per hour. Stake Center Locating works to prevent damage to underground utilities in local communities. The technician locates underground utilities and marks their positions to help prevent damage. The role also processes locate tickets, interprets maps and blueprints, uses locating equipment, and communicates with peers, managers, and homeowners.

What you'll do

• Locate underground utilities and mark the ground with paint and flags
• use a laptop to receive, document, and process tickets and email
• read maps and interpret blueprints to determine locating methods and sequence
• use provided locating equipment and technology
• communicate with peers, managers, and homeowners
• follow safety practices. Work flexible schedules, including some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, and respond to emergency calls during scheduled on-call rotations.
