What you'll do

• Frame residential or commercial structures, including studs, floor joists, ceiling joists, and roof trusses
• read architectural blueprints and CAD drawings
• construct forms for concrete foundations, footings, and retaining walls
• measure, mark, and cut materials
• install rough window and door frames, subflooring, and sheathing
• build temporary supports such as scaffolding, ramps, and platforms
• inspect frameworks for defects, rot, or decay and make structural repairs.
