The Senior Software Engineer — Money Movement role is onsite Monday through Friday in New York City, NY, in the Flatiron District. Compensation is $220,000–$300,000 per year, plus meaningful equity. The engineer joins the Money Movement team, which owns payroll, banking, and lending products for a point-of-sale software company. The role provides technical ownership of payroll and financial systems, including ledgers, accounting integrations, and payment execution. It contributes to reliable money movement by building auditable systems, improving reconciliation and correctness patterns, and partnering with Platform Engineering and store owners.

What you'll do

• Build payroll capabilities including earnings calculations, tax withholding, payment execution, and filings integrations
• develop bill pay
• embed bank accounts into the company’s operating system
• maintain accounting integrations such as QuickBooks
• design and maintain ledgers for loyalty, gift cards, and deposits
• establish financial-correctness patterns
• direct, review, and productionize AI-agent-written code with appropriate safeguards.
