The Therapeutic Program Specialist role is primarily onsite in Bridgeport, CT, with a salary of $45,000 annually. The usual schedule is Monday–Friday, generally 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility for after-school hours, evenings, school vacations, special events, and occasional weekends. The role supports Full Circle Youth Empowerment’s therapeutic, after-school, summer, and supportive service programs. The specialist provides direct support to adolescents through mentoring, structured activities, educational assistance, behavioral support, and documentation. The work advances youth development, emotional wellness, academic success, healthy relationships, and independent living skills in collaboration with families, schools, DCF, and other providers.
What you'll do
- Build professional relationships with youth and provide supervision, mentoring, and behavioral guidance
- plan and lead individual and group activities
- provide or facilitate at least 45 minutes of educational programming, homework help, tutoring, or academic support as required
- use trauma-informed approaches for redirection and de-escalation
- assist with assessments and individualized support planning
- supervise transitions, field trips, transportation, and community activities
- complete service documentation
- collaborate with program leadership, clinical staff, DCF, schools, families, and community partners.
