Flight Dynamics Engineer II

The Flight Dynamics Engineer II role is onsite in Littleton, CO. Compensation is $100,000–$130,000 per year. The position is part of Rocket Lab’s Space Systems team, which builds spacecraft, payloads, and components for space missions. The engineer develops and analyzes trajectories and supports mission design and operations for Earth-orbiting, lunar, and interplanetary missions. The work provides flight dynamics data and analysis that help mission teams plan, validate, and operate spacecraft and launch vehicles.

What you'll do

• Develop and analyze launch vehicle and spacecraft trajectories, including ascent, orbit insertion, and orbital maneuvers
• perform orbital propagation, rendezvous planning, and station-keeping analysis
• support mission design, launch-window analysis, delta-V budgets, and contingency planning
• interface with flight software and guidance, navigation, and control teams
• deliver trajectory data products and mission-readiness support
• contribute to simulation tools and flight dynamics infrastructure
• support real-time mission operations, anomaly response, and post-launch analysis.
