The Director, Facilities & Maintenance role is onsite in Fort Worth, TX; compensation is not specified. The director will lead maintenance and reliability across a multi-site metal, alloy, and magnet-making operation. MP Materials describes its mission as rebuilding American industrial capability through a fully integrated rare earth supply chain. The role exists to keep facilities, production assets, utilities, and critical infrastructure safe, efficient, and reliable. It sets long-term uptime and infrastructure strategy while leading maintenance programs, facilities operations, and reliability improvements that support high-volume manufacturing.

What you'll do

• Own preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance programs
• develop maintenance plans for equipment, capital assets, and infrastructure
• coordinate shutdowns, turnarounds, construction, installation, and commissioning
• manage work orders, spare parts, inventory, and CMMS
• maintain records and compliance documentation
• lead root cause investigations and corrective actions
• improve MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and uptime
• oversee building systems, grounds, and utilities
• integrate reliability engineering
• develop maintenance staff
• coordinate with procurement, engineering, and EHS
• implement safe work practices including LOTO, arc flash, confined space, hot work, and energy isolation.
