The Facilities Specialist 5 role is onsite in Kimberly, ID, supporting the USDA Agricultural Research Service’s Northwest Irrigation and Soils Research Laboratory. The specialist independently plans and carries out facility operations and maintenance for a research laboratory campus that includes buildings, greenhouses, and irrigated cropland. The role coordinates vendors and utilities, maintains facility assets and grounds, and supports fire alarm testing and response while respecting the program’s limits on federal employee functions.

What you'll do

• Coordinate service vendors, contractors, and utility companies
• coordinate groundskeeping and pest-control services
• maintain interior and exterior facility assets, structures, and designated parking areas
• establish and maintain fire alarm systems
• coordinate required tests and respond to fire alarm activation.
