Special Education Teacher

The Special Education Teacher position is onsite in Albany, NY. Compensation is $45–$55 per hour. Pediatric Developmental Services provides qualified teachers and pediatric therapists to schools and communities, supporting children’s educational and developmental needs. The teacher develops and carries out individualized education plans and helps students progress in a safe, productive classroom. The role coordinates with school staff and families, monitors progress, and uses individualized reinforcement to support each student’s learning.

What you'll do

• Create and execute Individualized Education Plans for students
• communicate with staff and family members about student progress and challenges
• prepare lesson plans for administrator approval
• participate in scheduled IEP meetings
• use individualized reinforcement techniques
• invite family participation in educational progress
• prepare quarterly progress reports
• confer with on-site therapists about disciplinary and behavioral issues
• maintain a safe, productive classroom environment.
