Staff Accountant – Capital Assets

The Staff Accountant – Capital Assets role is onsite in Charlotte, NC; compensation is not specified. The position supports Compass Group’s corporate asset accounting work across its foodservice and support services operations. The accountant validates asset requests, determines appropriate asset classifications and useful lives, and supports accurate accounting, reporting, and internal controls. The role coordinates with sector operations and corporate teams to maintain reliable asset records and meet reporting and audit requirements.

What you'll do

• Validate tangible, intangible, and leased asset requests
• analyze asset purchases and determine classification and useful life
• prepare and post journal entries
• review client contracts for compliance
• support month-end close and audits
• lead physical asset inventories for assigned sectors
• prepare monthly analyses, reconciliations, and reports
• coordinate with operations and corporate functions
• identify process improvements.

Why this role

Requires a four-year degree in Accounting or Business with an accounting concentration, or an associate degree in Accounting, and 2+ years of related experience. Excel experience required; GAAP, IFRS, asset accounting, and SAP experience are pluses.
