Direct Support Professional, Day Support and Community Inclusion

Job overview

The Direct Support Professional, Day Support and Community Inclusion role is onsite in Portland, OR, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Compensation is $21 per hour. Alternative Services Oregon supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in pursuing meaningful lives through person-centered practices. The professional helps adults participate in community activities, build daily living and social skills, and work toward personal goals. Encouraging choice and independence while providing trained behavior support and assistance as needed contributes to safe, engaging, and meaningful days.

What you'll do

• Support community outings and recreational activities
• help individuals practice social, communication, safety, money, and daily living skills
• encourage choice, independence, and participation aligned with personal interests and goals
• provide positive behavior support using trained strategies
• assist with personal care, mobility, transportation, and documentation as needed
• collaborate with the team.
