Job overview

The Chief Plant Operator role is onsite in Mission, TX, with compensation of $25 per hour. Sharyland Water Supply Corporation provides drinking water to rural communities in and around Mission, McAllen, and Edinburg. The operator leads treatment performance and regulatory compliance to ensure finished water meets state and federal standards. The role oversees plant staff, treatment processes, equipment, reporting, and operational improvements to support reliable water service.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop plant operations staff
• optimize treatment processes using operational data
• coordinate maintenance and improvement work
• oversee SCADA-based operations for pumps, clarifiers, chemical feed, storage, and chlorination
• manage required reporting and records
• support capital planning, SOP development, budgeting, and safety and environmental programs
• remain available for on-call needs as required.
