The After-School Preschool Assistant Teacher role is onsite in New York, NY. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour. The assistant teacher supports lead teachers and helps provide a safe, nurturing after-school classroom. Through structured activities, routines, and communication with families, the role contributes to children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.

What you'll do

• Assist lead teachers with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities
• supervise structured play, arts and crafts, and educational activities
• support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
• maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom
• communicate with parents and guardians at pickup and drop-off
• help manage snacks, transitions, and rest periods
• assist with monitoring and documenting progress and behavior.
