Motor Vehicle Technician II

Job overview

The Motor Vehicle Technician II role is onsite in Weslaco, TX, with pay of $19–$20.50 per hour. The position performs vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair work. The technician helps keep vehicles and related equipment safe and operational through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and accurate service records. The role also supports emergency response and vehicle recovery needs as required.

What you'll do

• Repair or replace worn or broken parts
• perform preventive maintenance and service gasoline, diesel, or alternative-fuel equipment
• rebuild or overhaul motors, transmissions, carburetors, and other components
• perform oil and filter changes, transmission service, brake and suspension repair, tire work, wheel alignments, air-conditioning diagnosis and repair, inspections, and tune-ups
• clean vehicles
• document repairs and parts
• use diagnostic equipment
• perform wrecker service for disabled vehicles
• perform emergency work as required. Evening and weekend hours may be required. ASE certification or ability to obtain it within the first year is required, as is a Texas commercial driver’s license or ability to obtain it within the first year.
