Senior Buyer – Segment Support

The Senior Buyer – Segment Support role is onsite in Newport News, VA, with compensation of $100,000–$130,000 per year. The buyer supports two procurement teams by executing strategies for supply security, cost savings, process optimization, and supplier risk mitigation. The role helps meet plant production and operational needs while securing value and maintaining procurement compliance.

What you'll do

• Prepare requests for quotes and proposals
• review quotations and conduct cost analyses
• negotiate pricing, payment terms, and lead times
• place purchase orders against approved requisitions
• maintain accurate purchase-order details and vendor dates
• resolve invoice holds
• reconcile supplier shipping documents with Receiving
• collaborate with plant departments
• assist with supplier onboarding and item setup
• ensure procurement procedures support quality and financial audits.
