What you'll do

• Provide age-appropriate perioperative nursing care
• facilitate transitions from preoperative care to the operating room and from PACU to release
• monitor and evaluate patients as anesthesia wears off
• communicate postoperative instructions
• assist anesthesia during intubation and extubation and respond to changes in condition as directed
• verify health history, orders, and consent forms
• prepare and administer medications according to current practice and medication safety requirements
• hand off care to the RN circulator
• maintain communication and working relationships with patients and care teams.
