Patient Educator

Job overview

The Patient Educator role is onsite in Spring Hill, FL, and pays $20–$22 per hour. The position supports Gulf Coast Spine, a minimally invasive spine surgery clinic, and reports to the Office Manager. The educator helps patients understand procedures and preoperative care while supporting clinic operations. What you'll do

• Enter forms and patient information
• complete FMLA paperwork and MRI authorizations
• prepare H&P packets
• distribute the fax folder
• filter, complete, or reassign tasks
• return patient calls
• check patients in and out
• fit braces and educate preoperative patients
• explain procedures
• make follow-up calls
• document education for surgical candidates
• perform EKGs and take vitals
• scan records
• review the upcoming schedule
• assist in clinic and office operations
• and travel to other locations when needed.

Why this role

A current Florida license and BLS certificate are listed as educational requirements. Certified Medical Assistant status and EMT or Medical Assistant experience are preferred; one to two years of customer service experience is required. Travel between offices on occasion is required.
