Youth Engagement Specialist — Transitional Living Program

The Youth Engagement Specialist — Transitional Living Program role is onsite in Atlantic City, NJ, with a stated hourly rate of $21.76. Covenant House of NJ supports young people through a strength-based, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction-focused program. The role builds supportive relationships and helps young people work toward housing, health and wellness, education, and employment goals as they move toward permanent housing. Through case management, activities, referrals, and crisis support, the specialist contributes to young people’s resilience and progress on their self-identified goals.

What you'll do

• Welcome young people and help them understand program structure and available resources
• conduct assessments and develop and update Success Plans
• monitor progress and coach youth on goal-related tasks
• connect youth with internal and community services
• facilitate group and daily activities
• provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
• maintain case notes, assessments, medication logs, and activity records
• participate in case reviews, community meetings, supervision, and training.

• Weekend coverage required

Why this role

The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, with Saturday and Sunday off. A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field is preferred; Spanish bilingual ability is preferred but not required.
